The pond has had a good start this year, but with the same problem as before.
The weather hasn't produced a long, deep, cold spell, so the plants never died back. This makes splitting and pruning much more difficult and hence not properly done.
The core of the filter collapsed over Winter and there must be a shortcut through the sponge layers because the water isn't clearing. However, as we have had a lot of attention from the heron, I've not rushed to fix it.
